Angel Star

Today was my due date so in memory of Angel, here's a picture Sophie did of her little sister that wasn't meant to be.

Slave labour

Nothing just gets thrown out in our house ! We had a big clear out last week of all the girls' clothes that are worn out or stained and filled up a bin-liner.

Now we're (ummm ok Sophie is, but she asked, honestly !!!) cutting out all the pictures off the Tshirts and any squares of fabric that might come in for patchwork.

Juliette said "take a picture of MEEE mummy" !!!

Hard at work being a seamstress !!

Juliette decided to make legwarmers out of some old Tshirt sleeves !!!

Crafty !!!

I dragged my patchwork out as well so I'm in the middle of a big project now - a "country sampler" quilt but I'm doing it half size or it would have been huge.

This is the picture in the magazine...

aaggghhh I'm fed up with cutting out little red and blue squazres already !!!

the bottom row - cat, squirrel, leaf, ...

the top section - house, chickens and rabbit hutch

the veggie patch and the chickens (closest we got to getting our own veggie patch this year !!)

I might be finished by xmas but I'll probably get sidetracked by Halloween and Christmassy things before then !!!

Multi-tasking Mum !

Look what I made !!! OK, so it was flatpack and I only had to put it together but I managed !(except for the lid because I ran out of time and had to go and pick the girls up from school, so Mike can add the safety catch later !) It was actually for Juliette's 3rd birthday back in February and has been in the garage ever since but then we put the house on the market so decided to wait until after the move ... I got fed up of the piles of toys all over the floor though so knocked it up on Tuesday !!

but being a multitasker, I was simultaneously making "brioche" (sweet bread) in the breadmixer so that was just ready for when the girls got home from school too. Impressed ?!!

You should have seen the first effort - it didn't work at all but it gave us all a good laugh !! (Note to self - don't use baking powder (levure chimique), you have to use real yeast powder (levure de boulanger) !

Right, what else needs doing ? (I'm thinking of repainting the doors but I know that if I do one, I'll have to do the whole lot ... and the skirting boards ... and the ceilings .... !!! )

We're having a book sale on Saturday !

We were going to do a bootsale last Sunday but by the time we found out it was on, all the places have been reserved - but then it rained anyway !

So now we're signed up for a booksale at the library (not sure how we'll do because half of them are in English !!!)

It was basically a good excuse for a clearout (after sorting through all the girls' clothes a couple of days before ! ) so we emptied out Sophie's bookcase ...

She's just popped a huge sweet in her mouth which is why she's got a funny face !

Sophie found loads of "baby books" to give to Juliette

Aaaggghh a green tongue, oh no, that's a sweet too !

Cheeky monkey alert

We haven't got a ghost, that's Sophie's shadow on the door (I hope !!!)

Hmmm time for some serious hairbrushing I think !!

Look Mum, your boots

Look Mum, your trainers ... (usually followed by Look Mum, your bra ... !!! )

Hopefully that's her hair and not scratches on her glasses !

Sophie looking like a scared rabbit in the headlights !!

Isn't it too early for Halloween monsters ?!

*sigh* Being cute is hard work, you know !

Bit out of focus but she looks cute so I'll post it anyway !

Oh blimey, here comes the other one !

A sensible shot to finish off with !

Sunday morning in bed

This is as close as it gets to a lie-in on a Sunday morning in our house !

Wake up Mum - I want a kiss !!!

Smile !!!

Now move over, I want your side of the bed because it's all warm.

Mum, help me do my activity book, it's in English so I don't know how to spell things ...
